Merry Christmas 2010

Our Christmas is over. The kids got here Monday night and we celebrated by opening gifts and eating the traditional turkey, sweet potatoe casserole and the other trimmings. It was so much fun. After opening the presents Asher said "This is the best Christmas ever." Over and over the next few days he would tell us about his favorite presents. What a sweetie.
Adin who is only 2 is my favorite right now. He is so sweet and wanted to open every one of the gifts even if they didn't belong to him..
The boys got along so well and jumped on the trampoline . The weather was warm so outdoor activity was available.
It was so good to see Mark, Asher, Adin and Mason. Mason has grown so much, last time I saw him he was only 3 months old, now he almost 6 months. Time is flying by.
Stanley and I will be alone on Christmas day. It seems odd that people are scurrying around getting ready for Christmas and we are finished. Tomorrow will be quiet and that is ok. Maybe next year we will make reservations to go somewhere.
Merry Christmas to all...

They are on their way....

Last night as I was stitching Marci texted me and said they were in Houston. WOO HOO! They are getting closer. As Marci posted pictures on Facebook my heart ached to see those boys. I sure do miss them! So they will be here tonight and the cooking has started. Natalie came over and baked all afternoon so she could give her co-workers home baked cookies. Natalie is not a baker. She finished 6 hours later and said "Whew that is hard work, I am not sure I will have enough energy to make the dressing for Christmas dinner." Seriously, folks this is exactly what she said. So the dressing may be coming from a box unless I can convince Marci to make hers. Our Christmas will be celebrated Tuesday night. We plan on doing it all that night and then relaxing the rest of the time. Gabe and family will be going home on Thursday and Lucas and Natalie are flying out on Friday so over the weekend we will relax and get ready to face the work week.
Gabe and Marci have been traveling since before Thanksgiving and I am sure they are ready to get home.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to my one follower and Happy New Year. Loved your picture and can't wait to see your pictures from the holidays.

White trash...

I went to a friend's house the other night. The theme was wine of course. We were all to bring appetizers or dessert and our hostess was to provide the wine. I was looking forward to it because there were a couple of ladies there that I have admired and I wanted to get to know them better. The topic of my tub in the backyard usually comes up and it is quite the joke and I always make fun of it but in reality it is upsetting to me because as a woman/wife my home is a reflection of who I am. Maybe I am wrong in this thought process.

Anyway, as I was telling these ladies about my tub in the backyard and how I have tried everything in my power to get Stanley to get rid of it I have run into a wall which isn't moving. Stanley wants it back there and nothing I have said or done has changed his mind. One lady said "Oh I would have just called someone to move it." One lady said "Oh that just wouldn't do to have it sitting out there." I don't know what kind of men their husband's are but do they really have that much power in their homes that what they say goes? Whether hubby wants it or not?
Or is it because I am married to a non-Christian?
I wouldn't mind if he kept this except I see it from my patio windows all day every day. It is there where everyone who comes into my home sees it. Their first reaction is "What is that?" I have tried making a joke of it but deep down it embarrasses me. So what do you do? I have put large plants in front of it to disguise it, right now my patio table and chairs is in front of it but you can see it anyway.
There is another part of my yard that 2 large windows look out upon but the yard is very ugly due to Stanley's shed and so I have to keep the shades pulled down. I have asked Stanley to move the tub to that part of the yard since no one can see it but he refuses. So basicly I have no say so about how my yard looks. Below is the picture of that part of the yard.

Needless to say when I left that evening I felt like white trash.
