The day after the day after Thanksgiving...

Greetings,
On my many surfing expeditions thru the internet I noticed that Amazon would be selling Kindle 2s on Black Friday. I don't do the Black Friday thing because 1. I am not prepared to shop at that time, I have no idea what is on my list and have no idea if the price they are advertising is worth getting up at 3 a.m. for. My guess is NO. 2. I don't like crowds. 3. I am down right lazy! So, when I saw that I could get a Kindle for $89 I was excited. But trying to figure out exactly what time this was going to happen was confusing to me. I know the PST is way early than CST but then I read that it might be PST PM instead of AM. But I wasn't sure if it was going to be PST, EST OR CST! I surfed the Amazon website and looked and read and surfed some more and just got more and more confused plus it was confusing as to what the Kindle, Kindle 2, Kindle 3G and Kindle DX did and what was what. So I closed the computer down and decided to go on with my life. Later on that morning I logged on and went to Amazon website and low and behold if they didn't sell many at 11:00 AM CST. DARN!!!!!!! I missed out! Guess I won't be getting a $89 Kindle.
On the other hand, Lucas and Natalie saw all sorts of bargains at Conn's and decided to get in line Thursday night at 9 PM CST. They waited until 5 AM CST and purchased all of their favorite items and were back home exhausted by 6 AM CST. They had many stories to tell about their escapades and we laughed and added that to our memories of Thanksgiving 2010.

Home Again Home Again Jiggity Jig

I have made it back home from my fabulous trip to London. What a great time I had with Lamont. I just noticed there was one comment on my blog and so I will answer it even tho I am way late. Our hotel was close to the South Kensington and Gloucester Rd. tubes. Right around the corner from the hotel was a long street with restaurants and shops. I loved being able to walk everywhere even in the rain. I bought boots over there to wear just for that weather.
My goal was to blog every day but I could not get on my blog all the rest of the time I was there so I will go from memory.
Lamont had the weekend to sight see with me and we went all over London on Saturday. Ended up in Piccadilly Circus which was alot like a circus. Lots of people walking and my favorite store Anthropolgie. WOO HOO! But then on Sunday he had to work some. We went to the theater and saw Wicked Sunday night. That was awesome. On Sunday morning I got up and took off for Piccadilly Circus alone. I shopped!
I rode the tube several times and was getting damn good at it if I do say so myself. I loved walking everywhere...oh wait did I already say that?
Lamont and I had some wonderful talks. I think we have a great relationship and I am so thankful for that.
I think I need to write a book!

This is my 3rd day in London

I am having such a great time. I love walking around and seeing the sights and mingling with the regular folks. Today I went to the Victoria and Albert Museum and it was awesome. I took some pictures and totally enjoyed myself. I stayed way longer than I thought I would. After the museum I decided to just walk. The weather was windy but the sun was starting to shine. I walked and checked out the tube but decided to continue walking and noticed a sign that said "Buckingham Palace". So I followed that sign and came upon the most awesome sight which was the Buckingham Palace. There were 2 young ladies among the other tourists and they asked me to take their picture and of course I said yes if they would take mine. Thus this is the picture of me in front of Buckingham Palace.
Immediately after this picture was taken it started raining. I ducked into a little gift shop on the grounds and tried to wait it out but then decided to make a mad dash and then ducked into another shop with exactly the same merchandise and the same prices. :-)
I found my bus but the lady said she wasn't running the bus right now but she gave me shelter until mine came and put me on the right one and off I go back to the hotel. I know my way around coming from Harrod's (did you think I wouldn't know about Harrod's?). I got off there and continued my walk back to the hotel. I bet I covered alot of miles today. I came home and got into dry clothes and waited for Lamont to come back. At 5:30 he walked in. I could tell he was stressed from work and needed to compress. I offered to get him a beer in the bar downstairs but he declined. We talked about going out but he had 2 conference calls to get thru before he could make that decision. In the meantime friends from work asked him to meet them and he asked me if that was ok. Of course it is ok. I went to the hotel restaurant and ate a big fat steak. I didn't eat lunch and was starving. I was feeling a bit lonely and sorry for myself but I had to remind myself that I am in London with my son and it can't get any better than that. So enough of my complaining.....

Museum of Natural History

I wondered into the museum mainly because it was free and it was a beautiful building. As I was walking around and dodging the school children I walked upstairs and the first thing that greeted me was this sign. Do they really promote this?

Where we are staying!

The first picture is a view out of our window, not that great. Second picture is of the front of our building and then the beds and bathroom. It is a nice place.

We made it!

We finally got to London. The flight was horrible, lots of turbulence. I slept some but the turbulence kept waking me up. Before we took off I noticed several people on the flight that were from London. I eavesdropped on their conversation and practiced listening to the accent. So far, I am able to understand most of the people.
It is cold and cloudy here. We took a brisk walk in the neighborhood last night, visited several pubs and ate at an Italian restaurant.
I have a book that gives me info on what to see and I found a blog with helpful hints. One of the hints was to watch out for traffic. Last night Lamont and I were waiting to cross a street. I stepped off of the curb and immediately a horned bleeped at me. I screamed and jumped back onto the curb all the while Lamont was laughing hysterically at me. When you come to a street to cross you have to be very careful. You automatically look to your right and then left but it is the opposite way over here since they drive on the WRONG side of the road. So pray I don't get run over. I will have pictures of our hotel room later today.
I still can't believe I am here and with Lamont...AWESOME!
